The $10,000 found by a 10-year-old boy in a Kansas hotel room may become his own. Tyler Schaefer found the cash in a drawer at the Hilton Airport Hotel. According to a report by United Press International on May 31, 2013 the money was turned in to the Kansas City Police Department
“If the $10,000 aren’t claimed within seven months they will be returned to the Schaefers.”
Tyler was staying at the hotel with is father, Cody Schaefer, when he discovered the loot. The police think that it is a bit strange that nobody has yet come forward to claim the cash or even report it missing.
The money has been earmarked for Tyler’s college fund if they end up getting to keep it. All should be decided by the end of the year. If the money is not claimed in seven months it will revert to the finder.
