TAMPA – For those who tuned into the 4:20 Pre-AMPD Radio Kickoff Show that aired on 102.1fm this past April 20th, they heard Buddy King of Buddy King’s Shotgun Junkies being interviewed live on-air. Soon the tables will be turned, or better yet the microphone will be reversed, as it will be King’s turn to be conducting the interviews after receiving his own radio show on 102.1fm called Local Exposure.
Hosted by Buddy King & Nick Key of the Shotgun Junkies, Local Exposure will be a monthly 3-hour radio show dedicated to the Central Florida Music Scene. The show will broadcast live from the 102.1fm studio located inside the Radio Bar and Grill in Tampa. On the show, King & Key will play songs from local bands & Artists, as well as interview local musicians, live on-air. Guest musicians will also be performing songs live & unplugged in the studio as well.

Local Exposure will debut on Sunday, May 26th, starting at 7:00pm. Guests scheduled to appear on the show’s debut include Tommy Roxx & Big Deal!, and drummer Kei Alexander, formerly of Sugar Phix.
“We welcome Tommy ‘Roxx’ Douthat and “Big Deal” in the studio for an exclusive interview about their new CD release. We will play a couple tracks from their studio release followed by an unplugged performance. Then we are excited to hear from world famous 13 year old drum Prodigy “Kei Alexander Bland” about what his future holds now that he has moved on from the Tampa based powerhouse band “Sugar Phix”.” – Buddy King
Following the show’s debut on May 26th, Local Exposure will continue to air every fourth Sunday of each month during the 7:00pm – 10:00pm time slot
There are three ways people can listen to or watch the show:
- Listen to the show live on 102.1fm in Tampa.
- Watch the show live on the worldwide web via ustream at radiobarandgrill.com
- Watch the show live and in person at the Radio Bar and Grill in Tampa, located at 2806 E. Busch Blvd.
Original bands looking to appear on the Local Exposure radio show, and/or would like to have their album played on the Local Exposure radio show are asked to contact Buddy King at 727-408-1001. Artists appearing on the show will need to submit either a “finished” CD or an MP3 of their music.
