Joe Gibbs Racing grabbed three of the top four spots in qualifying for Sunday’s FedEx 400 benefitting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway, including a pole-winning run from FedEx-sponsored Denny Hamlin.
Hamlin’s fast lap of 157.978 mph (22.788 seconds) in the No. 11 FedEx Freight/Autism Speaks Toyota Camry beat out Martin Truex Jr.’s speed of 157.798 mph (22.814 seconds) for the Coors Light Pole Award in the Sprint Cup Series. Hamlin’s JGR teammates Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth start in Row Two on Sunday; Busch’s No. 18 M&Ms Toyota starts third after a lap of 157.756 mph (22.820 seconds) and Kenseth’s No. 20 Dollar General Toyota starts fourth with a speed of 157.736 mph (22.823 seconds).
The FedEx 400 goes green at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. Qualifying for the Nationwide Series 5-Hour Energy 200 takes place Saturday at 11:05 a.m. ET, followed by the race at 2:30 p.m. ET. Keep up with the action at www.nascar.com and joegibbsracing.com.
