The 2013 NBA Playoffs continue with Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the (2-1) Miami Heat and the (1-2) Indiana Pacers.
Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind., will be rocking tonight as the home team will try and even out this best-of-seven series at two games apiece.
Opening tipoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT) and it’ll be broadcast live on TNT Sports. 2013 NBA Playoff predictions and oddsmakers have the visiting Heat as favorites to win tonight’s game.
NBA Playoff point spreads list Miami by -3 against Indiana (+3) tonight. The OVER/UNDER for Game 4 is set at a combined total of 185 points and 2013 NBA Playoff money lines go as follows: Miami Heat (-150 ML) vs. Indiana Pacers (+130).
Led by the one-two combination of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, the defending champs wasted no time in taking home court right back.
After being shutdown in the ladder portions of Game 3, Miami bounced back to outscore Indiana in every single quarter on Sunday.
How will the Pacers respond in a crucial Game 4 and what adjustments will Frank Vogel make to avoid falling into a 1-3 hole with the series shifting back to South Florida?
In my opinion, the most important thing the Pacers have to do fine-tune their mindset. They need to get back to being a nasty bunch that wants to destroy Miami, who’s ultimately a team that’s standing in their way of an NBA title.
Make no mistake about it, this series has taken a turn for the worse if you’re a Pacers fan, as players on opposing teams are high-fiving and patting each other on the back a little too much.
This is NBA Playoff basketball and for the Pacers to have a chance to dethrone the defending champs, they’ve got to go out there and take from them, snatch it out of their hands.
This friendly approach we’re beginning to see only favors the defending champs, as they’re keeping this team from playing with the tenacity that makes them a threat to the Heat’s title hopes.
Throughout the entire first half of Sunday’s game, I almost thought I was watching an NBA All-Star Game rather than two teams fighting for a chance to advance to the 2013 NBA Finals.
It’s time to get back to playing physical playoff basketball. When guys come down the lane trying to lay the ball up, being cute, they have to crack them and put them on the line.
This is the only way Indiana is going to have a chance to pull off the upset. They have to play with the passion and the tenacity of a team that hates their opposition rather than respect them.
You want to be friends and high-five each other and help each other off the hardwood? Wait until the series is over. For now, Miami should be Indiana’s enemy, because in the end, the Pacers are the ones that have to take it from them, not the other way around.
Hopefully, coach Vogel can deliver that same message and we can get back to playing NBA Playoff basketball. With a three-point cushion, I certainly like Indiana’s chances to make sure this is a long Eastern Conference Finals.
