I already gave my review of Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In case you were wondering, had it not been for the housekeeping incident it would have received a five-star rating from me. These five things are the reason why.
- Visually Appealing Main Floor – I am like kid where a lively view grabs my attention and holds my interest for a while.
- The Beach – While my best friend spent most of the time on the beach I enjoy seeing a clean beach (the part where we were was clean) with a beautiful surf.
- Hotel Atmosphere – I actually loved walking down the halls of the hotel.
- Royal Noodle House – The hostess was very polite and accommodating and the food was great!
- French Quarter Buffet – I am not a fan of buffets. However, this one made me a fan of it.

Main Hotel Floor
I loved looking around the main floor of this casino/hotel. I felt like a bobble head doll because my head was bouncing back and forth looking around. There is a lot to see on this floor alone. Even if you are there for just one day, there is plenty to do on this one floor.
My best friend is the beach maven. She took this pretty shot of the shoreline. I love the surf and how clean the beach was! I think the birds enjoyed as well!
I love walking down a clean and not too fussy hotel corridor. Since it was a long walk to our room, this minimalistic atmosphere made the walk pleasant for me. Plus, it does not hurt there were mirrors along the way just in case you need to do a quick sprucing up before hitting the main floor!
Royal Noodle House General Tso Chicken
The Royal Noodle House is a bit of a misnomer. It is a tiny restaurant on the casino floor adjacent to the House of Blues Poker room. What it lacks in size it makes up for with great dishes. For our main course my friend played it safe and ordered the General Tso Chicken.
Royal Noodle House
The weekday menu is limited since they do not receive much traffic from Sunday through Thursday. We ate the BBQ Spareribs, Chicken Curry Wontons for appetizers. I had Fried Egg Noodles with Shrimp, Chicken and Pork. My dish was interesting to look at. It did resemble a bird’s nest, which was cool. It was a delicious dish so trying something new paid off well for me that night.
French Quarter Buffet
I am not a buffet person because I often find the food at them not very appetizing. I chose to go to the French Quarter Buffet because I did not know what I wanted to eat; I just knew I was hungry. The food was tasty and not bland at all.
French Quarter Buffet – Peach and Corn Spoonbread
Two dishes really stood out that made me love French Quarter Buffet: cheese steak fried wonton and the peach and corn spoonbread. I say told people that before they die they need to try the peach and corn spoonbread here. On my plate I also had very creamy mac-n-cheese, sausage with potatoes, and mixed fruit salad.
