So, the Palestinians are coming back to the negotiation table after Israel is pressured by US Secretary of State John Kerry and the Obama Administration into releasing 104 convicted terrorists who murdered Israeli citizens. Excuse me while one throws up.
The American press should be sheepish about revealing the details of this insult to Israel to merely get the negotiating table going again. You can bet Israel will be expected to fall on the proverbial sword in several areas just to keep the talks going, after all everything is Israel’s fault.
The asinine action of expecting Israel to release convicted murderers should be an embarrassment to Americans who uses a different standard when dealing with terrorism ourselves. Why do we have Guantanamo still open then? Why are the murderers of American citizens in prison still? Should we not too release them to bring al-Qaida and the Taliban to the negotiation table? Why is the Boston Marathon bomber in jail?
Also, instead of babbling about how negotiations can restart after Israel once again executes a one sided expectation, what did Israel gain from releasing the prisoners? The opportunity to sit down with people who want Israel’s existence erased?
One cannot expect that America is serious about Israel’s security issues by rewarding those that indiscriminately killed Israelis by terrorism and then by giving murderers a Get Out of Jail Free Card. It is absolute insanity….beyond insanity. What possible logical message can be spun?
Linking amnesty to convicted terrorists sends the wrong message to both Israel and operatives of Hezbollah and Hamas. Regardless of the political posturing, the message is America does negotiate with terrorists.
Israel should not expect a thank you card from the Palestinians who naturally will put a negative spin on anything Israel does. The response from Palestinian advocate Mustafa Barghouti regarding the release of the 104 murderers was this,
“We think this is an act of blackmail, that their release will be used as an instrument of blackmailing the Palestinian negotiating team”.
That is dirty of Israel to release murderers just so Israel can blackmail the Palestinian negotiation team. Into doing what?
And make no mistake, Barghouti’s thinking is not far off from the mindset of the vast majority of Palestinians who voted in Hamas as their “moderate” representative in the West Bank and Gaza.
The illogical and irrational thinking of Barghouti and the ill-advised position of America that disregards the documented hatred of Israel of both moderate and radical Muslims is leaving Israel quite alone to deal with its security and future. President Barack Obama’s claim of “we have your back” rings hallow with the majority of Israel. One-sided compliance by Israel is American policy, and Israel’s release of prisoners is a testimony to the policy.
Obama and Kerry’s position is clear and Israel knows this, they will sell out Israel for a feather in their cap. If Israel has to sell out the farm for a fake peace, America’s position will be for Israel to do so.
America wants Israel to give up Samaria, Judea, and probably of hunk of Jerusalem to satisfy Israel’s enemies. What could not be done with armed conflict, Hamas and Hezbollah know a “hudna” which would compromise Israel can be diplomatically accomplished with help from the United Nations and America.http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/hudna-neither-a-truce-nor-cease-fire/
America will have a massive problem expecting Israel to give up Jerusalem….period. The secular humanistic approach that governs our State Department’s thinking has no regard to the historical or religious significance the Jews have to the Holy Land or Jerusalem.
There is only one way that Israel will comply to the desire for Obama’s crew to pressure Israel to give up more territory, and that is to allow Israel to restore its Temple on the Temple Mount.
There is a huge significance both in Jewish and Christian theology that would make Israel willing to give up Samaria, Judea, and a portion of East Jerusalem at the risk of compromising its own security.
The phantom peace may be a legacy for the Obama Administration, however it probably won’t be America that guarantees the peace treaty that will allow the Jewish Temple to be restored on the Temple Mount. The book of Daniel identifies that a 7-year peace will be secured by the anti-Christ and the peace treaty would be broken half way through the 7-year period.
The prophet Joel in the Old Testament warns about the judgment of God coming concerning “My people, and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted My land.”
God’s prophetic track record is flawless.
