On July 25, 2013, a judge decided that Amanda Bynes will remain hospitalized for two more weeks, as her parents attempt to gain conservatorship over the former child star, according to People magazine.
Radar Online reports that Bynes was placed on an involuntary hold by New York police on July 22 after she burned her pants, doused her dog with gasoline, and started a small fire in a driveway.
According to TMZ, Bynes could spend up to two more weeks in the psychiatric facility.
People reports that Bynes’ parents, Rick, 68, and Lynne, 66, may now have solid grounds for taking conservatorship over their daughter.
A hearing on the matter is slated to take place on Friday morning.
According to People, a legal expert says that for Bynes’ parents to be awarded legal control of her, there must be evidence that indicates a recurring pattern of behavior that is erratic and that Bynes is unable to properly take care of herself.
