Rick and Lynn Bynes are concerned about their troubled daughter, Amanda, according to Radar Online on May 29. Rick and Lynn have tried to reach out to Amanda with the hopes that she would seek some medical attention. The parents of “She’s All That” actress tells Radar Online in an exclusive interview that Amanda has refused to seek treatment, especially now that the NYPD and mental health officials have given her a clean bill of health.
Amanda’s parents moved from Texas to Los Angeles at the height of Bynes’s career to be closer to their daughter. Years later the “Hairspray” singer and actress retired from acting to pursue a career in the New York fashion industry. According to her parents, her acting career wasn’t the only reason for their cross-country move. “For years, since Amanda was a teenager, she exhibited distressing behavior.” Her parents wanted to be closer in case she needed them.
According to Radar, “Amanda has heard voices for years, and was concerned she was being spied on via smoke alarms, and clocks in her home. She would cover electronic items because Amanda believed that was the only way she wouldn’t be spied on.” That would certainly explain some of the “erratic” and “bizarre” behavior penned by others. It would also explain how she appears to always be filmed talking to herself.
Rick and Lynn have met with several lawyers hoping someone can help them get a conservatorship of their daughter. Sadly, lawyers feel that a judge in unlikely to sign off on the paperwork. On May 26, Amanda made a long tweet regarding her arrest and visit to a mental health facility. She also discusses suing her parents.
“Also, never trust or listen to a word any person from my family says to the press. I am suing them for money laundering/unethical manager work, I never signed a contract with them, and they had been stealing my money without me knowing, claiming they were managing me somehow when they have no right to act as if they did anything to help or enhance my career and I want $ back that I earned on my own. I’m 27 and don’t like when press talks to my parents. My parents are almost 70 years old. We are no longer on speaking terms. I would rather them be homeless than live off of my money.”
