Another impressive week coming up for live Orlando local music

With Orlando packed with so much musical talent, it’s not hard to expect to see another impressive week of shows coming up July 8-14 in live Orlando local music. It’s a great week to head out and discover some new music to enjoy and share with friends.

On Thursday, the Matt Pond tour arrives in Orlando at The Social. Pond may be from New York, but most of his band is made up of local Orlando musicians with Tierney Tough (The Pauses), Ranson Vorpahl (Saskatchewan) and Tre Hester (Great Deceivers). His recently released music video “Hole In My Heart” features Pond and his bandmates touring around Orlando on bicycle. Orlando band The Pauses and North Carolina band Matrimony are also on the schedule for this show.

Friday is overflowing with top-notch shows to choose from. At The Social, Orlando band Adeste is playing their farewell show with Orlando bands The Passenger and Stand Well Among Giants with Central Florida band Mental Giant also on the bill. At Natura Coffee and Tea, Orlando singer/songwriter Reggie Williams is playing a FREE show celebrating and promoting his current Kickstarter Project with Orlando bands The Cold Start and Evan Gibb also playing. At Lil’ Indies, Orlando singer/songwriter Laney Jones is celebrating the release of her new CD “Golden Road.”

On Saturday is this month’s edition of the Orlandobands.com Second Saturdays in Sanford showcase. The event features live music from Orlando bands Quarter-20, McKinney Griffin, Lake Worth Long Shots, Galia Social, Sudden Move, Whiskey Sharts, Jahnopa, Jabari Fish & Grits and Stu Sauce & The Syna Stix for this FREE show. Monday, July 8

Wills Pub – 1042 N. Mills Ave. – Live music from Orlando bands Control This!, 69 Fingers? and Irie Green Conundrum with Sons of Belfast, Night Gaunts and Mrs. Skannotto for this 18+ show. The doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $6.

Local Bar and Grill – 3231 Edgewater Dr. – Live music from Orlando band Old Again appearing with Koji, Turnover, Have Mercy and Ivy League for this show. The doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10.

Tuesday, July 9

The Red Lion Pub – 3784 Howell Branch Road – RPR presents Twisted Tuesday with Orlando’s Evan Taylor Jones Band and DJ Robb Blak for this 18+ show. This FREE event includes live music and other entertainment as well as a home-cooked meal, but donations are appreciated. The live music starts at 7:30 p.m.

BackBooth – 37 W. Pine St. – Live music from Orlando bands Abdomen Canvas, Monotheist and The Bride Wore Blood for this show at 10 p.m.

Tanqueray’s – 100 S. Orange Ave. – Live music from Orlando band Holey Miss Moley at 10:30 p.m. for this FREE 21+ show.

Maxine’s on Shine – 337 N. Shine Ave. – Live music from Orlando singer/songwriter Sterling Schroeder at 7 p.m.

BackBooth – 37 W. Pine St. – Booked Promotions presents live music from Orlando bands Kasson and The Detour appearing with Nasville’s Paper Route and Half Noise for this all ages show. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Social – 54 North Orange Ave. – Live music from Orlando bands XXYYXX, Fortune Howl and Out Go The Lights with Tampa band Spies on Bikes for this 18+ show. Tickets are $10 and the doors open at 9 p.m.

Tanqueray’s – 100 S. Orange Ave. – Orlando’s Drew Yardis appearing every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. for this FREE 21+ show.

Natura Coffee and Tea – 12078 Collegiate Way – Jazz jam every Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. All jazz musicians are welcome to play.

On line everywhere – WPRK 91.5 – WPRK’s Local Heroes radio show 5 to 7 p.m. features local talent from actors, directors, photographers, entrepreneurs, and musicians with DJ Daniel Pacchioni playing music from local Orlando bands. This week’s in studio guest is Orlando area singer/songwriter Laney Jones.

Thursday, July 11

BackBooth – 37 W. Pine St. – Booked Promotions presents live music from Orlando area bands Every Hand Revealed, Dreamer, Fear the Concept and Mouth of the Harlot with Thought of Redemption and Becoming The Archetype for this all ages show. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The doors open at 6 p.m.

The Abbey – 100 S. Eola Dr. – RAW Artists Orlando presents Elevation – a live music, art, fashion, film, photography, and performing art event once a month. This month featuring live music from Orlando bands Essence d’Âme, Mike Auden and Matthew Fowler for this 21+ show. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Cocktail attire required. The show starts at 8 p.m.

West End Trading Company – 202 S. Sanford Ave. (Sanford) – RPR presents their monthly Alive After 5 event featuring live music from Orlando bands Ancient Sun, Eight Stories High and Buster Keaton. The doors open at 8 p.m. and the music starts at 9 p.m. for this 18+ event. There is a $5 cover charge and a $3 surcharge for those under 21.

The Haven – 6700 Aloma Ave. – Mufftastic Productions presents live music from Orlando bands Leaving Haven, Fiery Sushi and Last Minute Stars with AbPsych and Azmyth for this 18+ show. The doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the door.

Odin’s Den – 1335 Howell Branch Road – Booked Promotions presents live music from Orlando bands (N)ception, Idyllic Descent, Zergoth and Guverra appearing with Still The Sky’s Limit and Vice Or Virtue for this 18+ show. Tickets are $5 for 21+ and $8 for 18-20. The doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Natura Coffee and Tea – 12078 Collegiate Way – Kickstarter The Realize The Dream Project Show featuring live music from Orlando bands The Cold Start, Evan Gibb and Reggie Williams for this show. This FREE show is to celebrate the success Reggie Williams has had so far with his Kickstarter project and encourage more supporters. There will be prizes for new backers. The music starts at 9 p.m.
