This time Anthony is exposing himself to the voters. Late Tuesday he announced to no one’s surprise that he is going to run for mayor of New York City. Who among the unemployed would pass up to 3.5 million in taxpayer dollars to apply for the job of mayor? Even if he doesn’t win just think of the future favors you could purchase with consulting contracts, campaign workers, even help your friend Jon Stewart employing him to do campaign ads.
What else can he do? Anthony has spent his life living off others and knows nothing else. When his first career as a professional student was cut short by graduation and the insistence of his lawyer dad and school teacher mom he get a job, he found Chucky Schumer. From 1985 to 1991 he learned the ways to game the system and got his own seat on the city council in 1992. Not content with small time city taxpayers Weiner moved to congress in 1999 to take advantage of taxpayers nationwide. In 2005 he blew 1.7 million in tax dollars to see if he could run for mayor. Just one year after marrying into the Arkansas mafia he took transparency in government just a little too far and was forced to resign.
Since that time his wife Huma, Hillary’s liaison to the Muslim brotherhood has supported him. They were forced to move into a 3.3 million dollar tenement on Park Avenue. (Actually owned by Clinton pal and bundler Jack Rosen) After the little Weiner was born Huma received special maternity exemptions from having to report outside “consulting” contracts while working at the state department to help them put bread on the table. (Similar to Albert Hiss’s consulting contract with Soviet Russia while he was at state department).
The road to redemption started with the ever democratic friendly New York Times puff piece about how hard it has been. (http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/04/14/magazine/anthony-weiner-and-huma-abedins-post-scandal-playbook.html) In this article he likes to call it “one fateful tweet” but later admits he expects more to come out. He also has his eyes on the public funds available from the Campaign Finance Board and his unspent 4.8 million in donations dormant since 2009. Almost half of which came from outside New York City. In Weiner’s eyes he has nothing to lose by running. He is not spending his own money, if he wins he is now back on the dole and if he loses he has bought a million favors with other people’s money. If he loses and runs for something else he can use the Clinton playbook and call the scandal old news.
So this is what we get with public financing. Like any program designed by the government, for the government and sold as a way to get money out of politics ends up being a personal piggy bank for candidates that haven’t been able to raise a dime in four years. Currently in Albany the progressives want to make public financing state wide. This would force all taxpayers to “fairly” contribute to hiring more dicks like Weiner to represent us.
