Fans of “Revenge” were shocked when the writers decided to kill off Declan Porter (Connor Paolo) during the Season 2 finale. While he was on the short list of possibilities, fans believed that Ashley Davenport (Ashley Madekwe) would have been the casualty. According to an article published May 31 by E! Online, Madekwe announced that Season 3 of “Revenge” will be when she exits the show. The announcement came via her Twitter page, and she received an outpouring of support from fans.
Madekwe originated the character of Ashley Davenport in Season 1, and has been a fixture in the biggest story lines each week. She met Amanda Clarke when she was working as a call girl, and Amanda helped better her life and put her in a position to get in with the Grayson clan. Over the course of the two seasons, Ashley remained a bad girl. That stigma lightened during the last several episodes when she agreed to help Jack Porter bring down Conrad Grayson. Madekwe said she would like her character to go out on a high note, and that the “Revenge” writers are working on a story line to incorporate her exit.
“Revenge” will return again in the fall for Season 3, and fans will have the chance to watch Ashley Madekwe exit the show. You can catch all new episodes of “Revenge” in the fall on ABC, Sunday nights at 8 p.m. CST.
