We’ve heard horror stories, like you, about the additives in cosmetics and the way they are tested. That’s why when someone pointed us to Ava Anderson products we said “Send something along!” And we received Ava Sun to test out.
Ava Sun is a sunscreen lotion (‘natch) with a 30+ spf—a nice number and higher than most. But what really caught our attention was the label: “no nanoparticles, no chemical UV absorbers, no parabens, phthalates, synthetic preservatives, fragrance or dyes.
That’s why her brand line is: “Quality products without harmful chemicals”.
So what’s inside? Words explaining what we know without a chemistry dictionary—zinc oxide (gives it that nice white color), beeswax, organic cocoa butter, organic Shea butter, organic olive oil and jojoba oil.
“Words explaining what we know without a chemistry dictionary…”
The 2.9 oz. size is more than fair, the consistency is thick and the product stays on rather well (it’s dang hot here in Arkansas).
All things considered, we would be willing to explore the other items in her line and feel pretty good about recommending her website and products to you.
Ava founded her company at age 14, when she discovered many beauty lines billed as “organic” and “natural” still contained harmful chemicals. The entire collection of 60+ products (from beauty, anti-aging, skin, home, baby and pet) are organic, non-toxic and comes in a environmentally friendly package. All of the ingredients used in Ava Anderson Non-Toxic products score a ‘0’ on the Cosmetic Database’s toxicity scale- the lowest number you can be awarded.
Ava Anderson Non-Toxic, the eco-friendly personal care line is a member of the Direct Selling Association and boasts a large celebrity following including Alicia Silverstone, Kelly Preston and Laila Ali.
