“Reflections & Dreams,” to be released June 25, 2013, is the latest in Harlequin Enterprises’ ongoing series of Nora Roberts omnibus editions. Combining both titles in Roberts’ Silhouette series “Reflections and Dreams” (also called the “Bannion Family” series), this book provides readers with a look into the lives of two prima ballerinas.
“Reflections” details the romance between ballet star Lindsay Dunne and architect Seth Bannion. The car accident that killed her father and injured her mother has brought Lindsay back to her New England hometown of Cliffside. Now she teaches her art to students in her ballet class.
Lindsay’s most promising pupil is Seth’s recently orphaned niece, 17-year-old Ruth Bannion. Lindsay believes Ruth needs the advanced training she can only get in New York. Seth, though, fears Ruth is still too fragile for such a change.
The arrival in Cliffside of Lindsay’s former dancing partner, Nickolai Davidov, threatens the relationship between Seth and Lindsay. Davidov wants Lindsay to return to the stage. Seth doubts he would continue to have a place in Lindsay’s life if she resumed her career.
“Dance of Dreams” (1983)
At age twenty-two, Ruth Bannion has achieved the success in the ballet world that her early talent promised. Her accomplishments are due in part to Nickolai Davidov, whom she met five years earlier.
Nick has become the ballet company’s artistic director, although he still dances as well. He has also written a new ballet, “The Red Rose,” in which he and Ruth have leading roles.
The sensual dances of “The Red Rose” stir feelings in both Nick and Ruth that have long been dormant. They give in to their passion, but their differing temperaments cause problems in their relationship. The passionate Ruth has difficulty understanding Nick, whom she sees as coolly remote.
A jealous rival appears on the scene, spreading rumors that cause Ruth to question her role in Nick’s life. She flees, but Nick follows to try to convince her of his love.
