You may not have heard of Beachbody but I guarantee you have heard of their products. P90X and Insanity are just a few of their customized programs that have swept the globe helping thousands of people achieve amazing health and fitness goals. Up next, Focus T25 which launches August 5th and is a 10 week challenge that not only allows participants to see quick results, they also have the chance to win big prizes as an additional incentive. Stacie Morgan is a Beachbody Coach that is helping her clients launch the challenge and will be providing constant coaching and advice throughout the process to her teams. She explains the newest fitness challenge and breaks down the overall system.
Q: What is the newest Beachbody fitness challenge?
Stacie: The Focus T25 program is a 10 week Beachbody fitness challenge and it is the easiest way to achieve your goals. It incorporates fitness, nutrition and personalized coaching. T25 is a new workout program from Beachbody that gets your workout DONE in only 25 minutes! I burn around 300 calories a workout. My clients are in a group with four to six like-minded people. We track our progress along the way, hold each other accountable, and motivate, inspire, and encourage each other to achieve amazing results. I like to keep my groups under 8 people. I love T25 because anyone can do it! However, customers can pick from any program. If they are unsure what program they want to do I will talk with them and help them choose a program based on their likes, dislikes, and ability level. As an added incentive, they are able to participate in the official Beachbody Challenge contest. To do the challenge, they need to order the Focus T25 workout program (or any Beachbody workout program such as Insanity, P90X, etc.) and I highly suggest they drink Shakeology. Shakeology is the best supplement for anyone to take after a workout because it helps to feed the muscles and burn the fat. “Challenge Packs” are the way to go and will save the most money. Once they enter the Challenge, and order their exercise program I will coach them and help them with their fitness and nutrition plan. Stacie: The Challenge and Coaching are free, you just need to use a Beachbody product and sign up as me as your coach on my Beachbody website. There is a program to match any taste and ability level. The least expensive program at this time is Hip Hop Abs and it is only $19.95! Challenge Packs are a combo of Shakeology and the customer’s program of choice, it is the best way to go and it will save you the most money.
Q: Can you describe the actual Focus T25 program design for us? What does a typical routine look like?
Stacie: The Focus T25 is a new workout program from Beachbody that is designed to get your workout DONE in 25 minutes! Shaun T, creator of Focus T25, experimented for the last 2 years to design a program that delivers the same kind of results you’d expect from an hour-long program in less than 30 minutes. The result is FOCUS T25. These fast-paced workouts are jam packed with dynamic, hi-intensity moves designed for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. It’s not easy, but it really works. The first 5 weeks you do the Alpha cycle, this is the foundation. You use only your body weight, plus there is beginner and advanced levels so everyone can get it done. Here is a breakdown of the exercises:
CARDIO: 25 minutes of calorie–burning, sweat–drenching cardio. SPEED 1.0: Ignite your quickness. Burn the fat. It is fast-paced for fast results.
The TOTAL BODY CIRCUIT Focus is designed for strength and resistance—without lifting a single weight.
The AB INTERVALS Cardio and ab intervals are designed to shred the fat from your midsection.
The LOWER FOCUS works on your lower-body muscles—the key to burning fat and kicking up your metabolism.
Examples of cardiovascular exercises include alternating knee lifts, slow control jog, high knees, jumping jacks, lateral sprints, and much more. Each moves lasts about 30 seconds. After a cycle you complete a “Burn Out,” a combination of the above exercise with increase speed and tempo. This is at the 15 minutes to go mark with controlled squats, hop squats, sprint in place, lunges, and a few more. Then another Burn Out of the above exercises (this is at the 5 min. to go mark) and DONE!
There is a bonus stretch after the 25 minute and there is also a full stretching DVD to do on Sundays. After the first 5 weeks we introduce the Beta Cycle and the focus is on the core. The Beta workouts feature new dynamic moves that take your body and your fitness to a new level. Plus every workout will focus on your core, so your abs get shredded too!
In 10 weeks you can move to Gamma, it is sold separately and is more focused on strength training with bands that are included or you can use you own dumbbells.
Q: What fitness equipment does it require?
Stacie: Resistance bands are included but you can use dumbbells if you have them. Also an exercise mat is needed.
Q: What motivated you to become a Beachbody coach?
Stacie: I started coaching because I wanted to reach out to my friends with like goals of getting healthy and fit.
