A new album featuring Lennon and McCartney songs performed by country artists will be released June 25, reported USA Today Thursday.
“Let Us In Americana” will include Steve Earle and Allison Moorer (“I Will”), Rodney Crowell (“Every Night”), Lee Ann Womack (“Let ‘Em In”), Buddy Miller (“Yellow Submarine”). Proceeds will go to the Woman and Cancer’s Fund, which was created in honor of the memory of Linda McCartney. The album is a sequel to “Let Us in Nashville,” a tribute to McCartney released in 2011.
COUNTDOWN TO BELO HORIZONTE: Tonight’s Paul McCartney tour opener in Belo Horizonte will not be webcast, but you can get updates, but without video or audio at this Brazilian site. Right now, the site is showing a countdown until the show starts. And be sure to join the discussion about the tour on our special Facebook page.
BEATLES VINYL AT TARGET: We’re told Target will soon have an assortment of remastered Beatles vinyl, though not the entire collection. Price will be $21.99, our source said.
“THINGS WE SAY TODAY”: The latest segment of our “Things We Said Today” radio show, premiering this weekend on Beatles-a-Rama and Fab4Radio.com is a review of the new “Ringo at the Ryman” DVD. Still available on the program site is our interview with Billy J. Kramer. “Ringo at the Ryman” will be available through iTunes and podbean.com on Monday. And we’re aware of a server problem with iTunes. You can get episodes on podbean, the Podcasts app on the iPhone, and in the iTunes store, but subscribers trying to get them through iTunes are having problems. We’re aware of that and we’re attempting to get it fixed.
