“Let The Good Times Roll,” the new single by Beatles friend Horst Fascher we told you about, hit no. 16 July 25 on the Amazon.com mp3 sales chart, though it’s at no. 32 at this writing. We reported that Fascher is recovering from cancer, and as producer Gary Land told us, “A No. 1 will give him additional strength.” Indeed, the single made a strong showing. Land says Fascher sends best wishes to everyone. “Let the Good Times Roll” is available on iTunes in the U.S. and in the UK, plus on Amazon.com, in the UK at Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de in Germany.

BEATLE AUCTION: Items belonging to John Lennon and Ringo Starr, including a pair of John Lennon’s sunglasses, will be auctioned Saturday by Mecum Auctions of Santa Monica, CA. The glasses, being auctioned by May Pang, are pictured in her book “Instamatic Karma.” “John thought the Swan glasses were very stylish and it became one of his favorite pairs. He had such bad vision and was so near-sighted that he literally couldn’t function without his glasses. That’s the first thing he did when he got out of bed. He’d put on his glasses because he needed them to see,” Pang says on the auction website. Also being sold is a ring formerly owned by Ringo Starr and worn on the cover of the “Ringo the 4th” album.
KLEIN TUSSLE: Relatives of Allen Klein are in a dispute over artwork which one says the late Beatles manager gifted them, according to a New York Post report July 24. The artwork includes a drawing by John Lennon, “Let’s Have a Dream.”
