Tonight’s episode of Big Brother picked up after the Nomination Ceremony. Spencer and Howard were disappointed to be nominated, and Helen was happy Aaryn stuck to her word with her nominations.
Helen went upstairs and jumped up and down to thank Aaryn while they were alone in the HoH Room. GinaMarie came in, and Helen said she was just excited to not be nominated. Elissa also came upstairs to hug Aaryn and thank her. Amanda went upstairs after they left and said she had been waiting for Howard to be on the block for weeks. She was proud of Aaryn.
Jessie went to talk to Howard in the Have Not Room and burst into tears because she was sad that he could go home. She told him to win the PoV because she knew winning this game could change his life. In the Diary Room, she explained Howard had been there a lot for her personally in the game.
McCrae talked to Spencer about his theory that Helen and Elissa made a deal with Aaryn and GinaMarie. He also lied and said he told Aaryn he wanted her to put Elissa and GinaMarie up for eviction. Spencer played along, but in the Diary Room, he told us he didn’t believe any of it.
Outside, Spencer and Howard talked. Howard didn’t think things were looking good for him, so he went inside to talk to everyone. He mumbled a whole lot of nonsense that no one really understood. The other houseguests avoided eye contact and felt the speech flopped, but Howard was glad to have gotten whatever he was talking about off his chest. After the speech, Amanda, McCrae, Judd, Andy, and Jessie all tried to figure out what he was saying up in the HoH Room. They were even afraid he was coming after them.
While Amanda and McCrae lounged in the hammock, Elissa ran by and told them she thought Andy got MVP this week, because he seemed excited. Elissa thought they did three weeks of girls winning and then three weeks of guys. (Amanda and McCrae didn’t agree with her theory at all).
Next, it was time to pick players for the Veto Competition and find out the third nominee, nominated by America as the MVP. Amanda turned out to be the third nominee, so she took her seat on the couch next to Howard and Spencer. Amanda was obviously upset, and the houseguests were all surprised at the revelation. Along with Aaryn, Howard, Spencer, and Amanda, Candice and Jessie were also chosen to play in the Veto Competition. Aaryn chose Helen to host.
McCrae started going at it with Spencer, accusing Howard of being the MVP, keeping it from Spencer, and screwing Spencer over. Spencer was annoyed again. Aaryn went to Amanda and told her they “know the MVP isn’t America now.” Spencer and Candice were convinced the MVP was Elissa, but Andy agreed with McCrae, that it was actually Howard. Amanda was on a mission to figure out who the MVP was, so she went to talk to Howard. He told her it wasn’t him – he thought the MVP hadn’t changed and was still Elissa, or it was America. Their conversation went nowhere, because Amanda couldn’t figure out what Howard was trying to say.
Dressed as a mad scientist, Helen gathered everyone for the Veto Competition. The players had to enter a “time machine” and walk out a different door to a part of the backyard that was full of dinosaurs, rocks, and gooey lakes. Each person had to gather their colored puzzle pieces and get them back to their area to put a stone Veto puzzle together. Amanda pulled ahead, but she realized she forgot some of her puzzle pieces just as Spencer’s was coming together. Spencer also realized he forgot a piece, but he found it and pieced his puzzle together first, winning the Power of Veto.
Up in the HoH Room, Aaryn said Candice should go up on the block as a replacement, since she was a vote for Howard. Downstairs, Spencer tried to ask Howard and Candice their game plan, but Candice felt she was going to be the replacement nominee. Candice realized Spencer wasn’t going to do anything, so she went to Helen herself to try and strike a deal. Candice had Helen’s deal with Aaryn figured out, which upset Helen. Helen was mad and stormed out of the room and went upstairs to cause trouble in the HoH Room. (Everything Candice said was completely true – Helen just didn’t like that she had it figured out). Helen told Amanda, GinaMarie, Jessie, Spencer, and Andy that Candice had threatened her and was “spreading rumors” about her running the house.
During the Veto Meeting, Spencer used the Power of Veto on himself, so Aaryn replaced him with Candice. Howard was prepared to turn the house against Amanda, and Candice had a hunch her “friends” Helen and Elissa had a hand in getting her nominated, so she wanted to make sure to go after them if she made it through this week.
