According to a May 30 report from Boston.com, Boston Marathon bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, is now able to walk without a wheelchair.
Boston.com reports that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev walked without assistance to make a phone call to his mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva. This is the first and only contact the two have had since Dzhokhar was arrested on April 19.
Zubeidat Tsarnaeva told reporters that her son was very emotional, and that he told her he and his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, were innocent. She added that:
“I could just feel that he was being driven crazy by the unfairness that happened to us, that they killed our innocent Tamerlan.”
The Tsarnaev are accused of bombing spectators during the April 15 Boston Marathon. The double bomb blasts killed three people including a child, and injured more than 200 others.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been in a federal medical center recovering from injuries he received during a 24-hour manhunt in Watertown, Massachusetts. He faces charges of using a weapon of mass destruction, and with malicious destruction of property resulting in death.
