Luxury is defined as “a condition of abundance or great ease and comfort” (Merriam Webster dictionary) for any luxury car; comfort is crucial as well as safety, design, style and technology. Lets be honest, you wont spend your hard earned money on a piece luxury that doesn’t do everything you want it to do correct? In steps the Lexus GS 450h, this Lexus not only has style, comfort, power, design, technology but is also is exceptional in saving a lot on gas. When you combine all of these amenities, the Lexus GS 450h is absolutely at the forefront of the ‘new’ luxury car.
As you know I’m always reviewing the latest and most stylish cars available to the public, but the Lexus GS 450h did something for me no other car has ever done… wait for it… I didn’t have to filled up or add gas to the car not once for 9 days. I received the car with a full tank, I went to NJ, Brooklyn, Queens, downtown, uptown, my events and more and yet after 9 days a ¼ of a tank was still available when I handed the car back to Lexus. I went to #SummerFridays, NJ multiple times, a Canada Goose preview downtown, a TY KU tasting and supported a friend at Brooklyn Terrace. There’s a bar that allows you to see when you’re using too much gas which helps you stay in eco mode. I was in eco mode all week, which allowed me to save my gas. As matter of fact annually one can save approximately $1,850 on gas.
Luxury cars are not about gas mileage, luxury is about comfort, status and high quality, but when a luxury car is able to also give you fuel economy, it’s truly the best of both worlds. My GS 450h was bluish green, and was fully loaded costing just around $68,000. Here are some of the other awesome features:
- 338 total system horsepower
- 0-60 in 5.6 seconds
- 34 MPG rating (hwy)
- Exclusive matte bamboo trim
- Exclusively available LED headlamps
- Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) with two-speed reduction, Snow mode and paddle shifters
- Four-wheel power-assisted discs with Electronic Controlled Braking (ECB), regenerative braking, four-sensor, four-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist
Overall the Lexus GS 450h, is a great automobile, the only negative is the parking technology can be better, although is has a camera in the rear, the screen inside in the front doesn’t follow your movements its stationary, most parking assists in cars show you your movements as well as how to stay straight while you’re parking. I give it a 4 ½ out of 5, Lexus is back incase you thought they had left.
