Former “X Factor” U.S. finalist Carly Rose Sonenclar, 14, is giving fans a sneak preview of what might be on her first album. On June 29, 2013, she performed an original song that she reportedly co-wrote titled “Unforgettable” at Rye Playland amusement park in Rye, N.Y.
Then on June 30, 2013, she performed “Unforgettable” at iPlay, an amusement park in Freehold, N.J.
She is also doing two appearances at Universal City Walk in Universal City, Calif:
- July 4, 2013: Meet-and-greet session at It’Sugar from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. PDT.
- July 5, 2013: Free concert at 5 Towers at 7 p.m. PDT.
Sonenclar came in second place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2012.
As previously reported, Sonenclar will headline a solo concert at the Best Buy Theater in New York City on Aug. 10, 2013, as part of the Stand Up for a Cure 2013 Concert Series. The show is also a fundraiser for Starlight Children’s Foundation NY*NJ*CT, for which Sonenclar is an ambassador.
Meanwhile, Sonenclar confirmed in a USA Today interview what I already reported in December 2012: She is signed to Syco Music, the record company co-owned by Simon Cowell and Sony Music.
According to USA Today, she’s been working on the album with producer Toby Gad and her “X Factor” vocal coach Autumn Rowe. Sonenclar commented on the album, whose title and release date are to be announced: “I’m writing all the time, just by myself. It doesn’t necessarily have to be me with somebody else in the room. I have a piano in my house. I can always go down to the piano and play, and write by myself. So when I do have a session set up with somebody, I can come in with stuff.”
Although this will be Sonenclar’s first album, she is not new to showbiz. She has already had years of experience as an actress. Sonenclar’s theater credits include “Les Misérables” on Broadway, “Wonderland” on Broadway and a touring production of “Little House on the Prairie: The Musical.” She’s also had roles in the movies “The Nanny Diaries” and “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2” and in the PBS revival of “The Electric Company.”
Sonenclar’s fans on the Internet have had overwhelmingly positive reactions to “Unforgettable.” Here is a sampling of comments on YouTube:
“SONG IS GONNA BE A HIT! amazing as always carly can’t wait to hear more original stuff!”
“She’s come so far since she was on X Factor. Nice to see her dominating the stage and this song is sure to be a hit. It’s a great change up from the songs she did on X Factor. She is just amazing.

“Yup shes gonna be big her voice is perfect.”
“I love the song, i love the person, i love the voice, i love what’s she’s wering.”
“Talk about unforgettable, its stuck in my head. A great harbinger for her CD.”
“This song will be unforgettable!”
“Where were you all this time my friend!:) She said herself she wants to bring Soul back to Pop. Give her some time to mature with her soul aspect. I am sure right now she wants to engage more with fans of her age without neglecting older fans. This girl aim is very high, she doesnt want to be a Pop-Tart but a Super Star:0 that will bright her light as long as we shall live.”
“Is there a studio version of this? I really want to download it!”
“I want studio version!!!!”
“Reminds me of jojo at that age!”
“Aww, Im addicted to this song. You’re so talented, young and very beautiful. You’re amazing, fantastic, awesome, incredible, perfect, excellent… Love you so muchhhhh.
“Catchy music, nice voice as expected from X-factor runner up. However it also make me wonder if she trying to be pop star like Selena Gomez. I guess money and fame is what people aim for nowaday and that’s sad since I see her more of a Diva than an idol.”
“I cant wait for your album carly!!”
