Carton Brewing’s latest small-batch beer is ready to hit the tasting room on Sunday, July 21 at noon for tastings and growler fills. Inspired by the shore fishing community and the steamy summer weather, Digger is a Gose brewed with local clams and lemongrass, coming in at 4% abv.
For those unfamiliar with the style, the Gose is an older German beer style originating in Leipzig and brewed with malted wheat and salt. Typically these are brewed with lower alcohol content, designed to be refreshing and crisp on the palate. In Carton’s case, they upped the ante by adding Cherrystone clams, Green Bullet hops and lemongrass to deliver a true July clam shack experience.
After the initial debut at the brewery, Digger will hit bars and retail locations throughout New Jersey beginning Monday, July 22. Check out their official site to see where Carton beer is available.
Carton Brewing Company is located at 6 East Washington Ave in Atlantic Highlands. Tours, tastings and retail sales are available Thursday and Friday from 5-7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12-5pm.
