Despite not meeting each other until the day before the start of the Race Across America (RAAM), Team CEO Challenges, part of CEO Challenges®, the world leader in sport competitions designed specifically for CEOs and business owners, was able to secure a podium spot for 8-man teams in the race coming in at second place. Their time for the 3,000 mile cycling relay race from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD was six days and seven hours.
“What an incredible week,” said Ted Kennedy, President of CEO Challenges. “We had people on our team who only started riding bikes in January yet we were able to pull off a second place finish in this prestigious event. The team executed a nearly flawless strategy and never missed a step. All credit goes to the crew and the mental toughness of the riders for our great finish.”
RAAM owner and race organizer Rick Boethling said, “”The CEO Challenges team overcame some difficult logistic hurdles to race in this year’s Race Across America, including racers and crew from several different locations that only met for the first time at the race start in Oceanside. Not only did they manage to coordinate this effort, but they had an incredibly successful race, finishing second overall in the 8-person team division.”
- Race Across America is a transcontinental bicycle race starting on the west coast and finishing on the east coast. The race covers 3,000 miles across the Rockies, the heartland of America, and finally the Appalachians. It continues to stand as one the toughest events in the world and a tribute to human endurance.
“I had an incredible time that will last forever in my memories,” said CEO Challenge team rider Dave Luckrich. “Ted and the CEO Challenges team did a great job in keeping everything in check and making sure we were all comfortable and competitive throughout the most enduring race in the world.”
Another rider, Scott Roix, echoed Dave’s thoughts. “Racing with CEO Challenges was the ultimate way to compete in RAAM. The organizational efforts and attention to detail made my role as a cyclist very easy. Anyone who is looking for a unique challenge would be thoroughly impressed with CEO Challenges.”
- CEO Challenges offers a variety of other events for business owners and C-level Executives including the CEO Endurance World Championship that will take place Sept. 6-9 at Blackberry Farm, Tenn.
