Chaco, whose soles and soul are deeply rooted in durability, versatility, and support, are trekking into the new terrain of performance multi-sport and hiking boots. FINALLY!!!
In fact, the Active Adventure Collection of lugged outsoles and premium leather uppers will hit stores early August 2013. But never one to take breaks from innovation, they’re adding four new breathable low cut styles and two waterproof options for Spring 2014.
The Touraine Waterproof (women) and Trailscope Waterproof (men) have seam-taped waterproof internal booties and water-resistant suede and mesh uppers. Good for slogging through the snowmelt-wet trails of early spring. Aggressively lugs on the 5mm EcoTread™ performance outsole grips the rocks that poke up through the early spring snowmelt.
For dryer conditions, the Touraine and Zora (women) and Trailscope and Grayson (men), are breathable with their open mesh uppers wrapped with premium leathers and accented by jacquard webbing accents.
Debris is kept out with a durable rubber toecap, heel and a gusseted tongue. Each of the Active Adventure styles come in an earthy modern color palette, with durable lacing hardware, and proprietary EcoTread™ 25% recycled content performance outsoles.
And in keeping with Chaco’s tradition of being good for your feet, the Active Adventure styles feature Chaco’s renowned LUVSEAT™ long–‐ lasting support platform and are built on a uniquely comfortable footbed construction. A durable and premium PU footbed is supported on a lightweight cushioned EVA Midsole with integrated ESS shank.
Pricing in 2014 will be as follows:
- Women’s Zora, $120
- Women’s Touraine, $115
- Men’s Trailscope, $120
- Men’s Grayson, $125
Also look for an updated Near Ground Collection. When it debuted last year, it was like Chaco’s on the Zone Diet: All the lean protein but none of the unnecessary carbs and sugars. The footbed is made with the new TPU frame that is ergonomic, smoother, sleeker and lighter, slightly squishier, and more forgiving to feet with plunging arches or no arches at all.
For Spring 2014, they’re getting a slight facelift but they will still maintain the same streamlined, low-profile, versatile, supportive and comfortable edge. New styles will include the Raja, a flip with double straps, the Mystic and Royal sandals and the Greer MJ, a Mary Jane style shoe.
All Chaco products feature the LUVSEAT™, a footbed certified by the American Podiatric Medical Associations (APMA) for long-lasting support and comfort.
