Your mind is a powerful thing. If you can envision it, you can bring it to life. Think about what you want in life and make those dreams a reality.
Are you living the life you dreamed of? Have you given up on your dreams? Have you forgotten what your dreams are? What did you want to do when you were a child? Can’t remember? Think about your childhood. What memories come to play. If you are still having a difficult time, look at old photographs, go to places you used to like to visit and see what brings you joy.
To truly be happy one should search inside and see how you can earn a living doing what brings joy and a sense of accomplishment. If you are not sure on what you would like to do, make a list of all the things you like to do. Now, think about how you can incorporate these things into a career. Get some help from a coach or guidance counselor if needed. Ask your friends and family what they feel are some of your best qualities. What do they see you doing. You would be surprised by some of the answers they give you. The feedback may even help you see things you haven’t thought of before.
Once you have narrowed it down. Write down small steps on how you can make this work. Do you need to take some classes to increase your skills or do you already possess the skills and knowledge needed?
You just need to put it into action. Set up your game plan. Can you take 5 hours a week, 10 hours a week, 2 hours a week to achieve your goals? If you truly want to change you will find a way to make the time. There are probably things you currently do that could be cut out of your schedule to make way for your new path. Maybe cut down on TV, spend a little less time with people taking your time that are not helping you grow. Surround yourself with successful and like-minded people.
Create a vision board. This may sound silly, but it is proven to work. Get photos of things you want, cut them out of magazines. Cut words out and place all of these on a vision board. Whether it be a vacation, new car, house, boat, clothes, art, etc., if it is your dream you should bring it to life.
Instead of saying, thinking or writing “I want” replace this with “I have” or “I am”. Your subconscious will believe that you already have and/or are these things and you will be able to bring them to fruition.
One becomes complacent, comfortable, afraid of success and holds themselves back from achieving their goals. Step out of your comfort zone and see where you can take yourself.
Remember, if you can dream it, you can achieve it. What are you waiting for? The time to act is now. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
You only have one life, give it the meaning you want it to have.
