Chrysler brand vehicles continue to impress the auto writers of Texas as, once again, Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT and SRT brand vehicles won significant accolades at the annual Texas Auto Roundup hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) April 29.
Following a full day of demanding driving at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, journalists voted on their favorites and Chrysler Group secured seven of the possible 19 awards – the most of any participating manufacturer at the event.
“We are extremely honored to have seven of our vehicles receive awards from TAWA,” said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales and President and CEO – Ram Truck Brand. “These accolades are a testament to our hard work to deliver world class vehicles that have helped us to achieve 37 consecutive months of year over year sales growth.”
TAWA members gather every spring to evaluate all that’s new in passenger cars, minivans and performance SUVs. The event gives Texas journalists the opportunity to drive nearly every new car on the market, ranging from subcompact vehicles to supercars (over 450 hp).
A total of 47 journalists attended and drove 53 cars from various manufacturers at the event.
“This year’s event was extremely competitive with a number of very close votes,” said Michael Marrs, President – TAWA. “With 53 vehicle entries competing in 19 different categories, our members were clearly impressed with the Chrysler Group vehicle line-up.”
Vehicles from Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat and SRT brands all won awards with SRT garnering the most honors of any of the Chrysler brands.
