The past few days of weather may go down as the best weather of the summer. At the very least, it has been the best weather so far this summer. Highs were in the 70s both Wednesday and Thursday. Temps today will break the 80 degree mark but low humidity will keep it feeling perfect outside. If you have outdoor plans this evening, expect temps in the 70s making it yet another picture perfect evening!
Unfortunately there are changes in our weather forecast as we head into the weekend. A weather system will approach from the west tonight bringing increasing clouds. Showers and thunderstorms will become possible towards dawn on Saturday as moisture surges in our direction. Lows will be warmer tonight due to the cloudiness and will only drop into the middle 60s.
The morning hours of Saturday are looking pretty wet unfortunately so be sure to keep the umbrella handy if you need to go out. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely and temperatures will be stuck in the upper 60s. The rain will taper to scattered activity for the afternoon hours. A few breaks in the clouds should help boost temperatures into the upper 70s by late afternoon.
Severe weather is not likely on Saturday although an isolated strong storm will be possible late in the afternoon primarily east of Columbus.
Scattered thunderstorms will remain possible through the evening hours on Saturday but taper off towards midnight. A strong upper level area of low pressure over the Great Lakes will keep clouds around on Sunday. A spotty shower or two will also be possible. Highs will struggle to make the lower and middle 70s on Sunday with the clouds and a cooler air mass moving in overhead.
Sunshine will return on Monday making it another beautiful day! Highs will be in the 70s and the humidity will be low. Temperatures will slowly warm back into the middle 80s by the middle of next week.
Tropical Storm Dorian continues to spin out in the Atlantic with sustained winds of 50 mph. It has not strengthened much in the past couple days and is expected to remain a tropical storm for the foreseeable future. The latest track can be found here in the slideshow.
