Cody Simpson is kicking off his North American leg of the Paradise tour on Thursday night and the fans couldn’t be more excited. Stepping on the stage in Jacksonville, Florida the tour will begin after weeks of rehearsing. Before the final rehearsal of the show, Cody Simpson took time to chat with us for an exclusive story and share why he has stepped up to help fight childhood hunger in America.
The young entertainer knows the issue of hunger in America may be a concern for young people and he decided to actively get involved. Recently judging a fan contest that allowed winners to donate money to local food banks, the issue is something Simpson wants fans to be a part of too.
“1 in 5 kids don’t know where their next meal is coming from,” said Cody Simpson about the issue of the childhood hunger. “A certain number of my fans are included in that figure.”
Looking to make a difference, the entertainer wants to be a part of the solution to change that figure. Before he decided how, he took time to research the issue and make sure it was something he could share with his fans. At past concerts fans have collected food donations for local food banks and participated in other charities, so the idea seems to fit well for the star.
“I felt I could help with this project and make a difference. I have a voice that can spread a positive message,” said Cody Simpson. “I am very excited,” Cody Simpson told us about his new tour. ‘The past year I have been opening for others. Now it’s my own tour.”
