The brief spike in the humidity levels experienced yesterday and overnight last night will be vanquished by a cold front that has crossed the region as of the time this forecast was being drafted. Skies were beginning to brighten, and northwest winds becoming brisk, outside of the Capital Region Weather Examiner headquarters, and this trend is expected to continue through the day today. High pressure will slowly build into the region from the upper Midwest, providing noticeably lower humidity levels, and the moderate, to at times gusty, northwesterly breeze, persistent through the daytime hours today.
One of the coolest nights since the month of June looks to be in store for the region overnight tonight. High pressure will draw nearer to the region, skies will clear, winds will diminish, and temperatures are expected to drop into the 50’s. Areas to the north, and sheltered valley locations, may start Thursday in the 40’s.
A stretch of fair weather, with comfortable humidity levels, looks to be in store through the remainder of the work week and into the coming weekend as the high pressure area remains in close proximity to the region. In fact, the high pressure area will be situated between two prominent weather features. The first feature is a cold front that approaches from the upper Midwest over the weekend, while as the second feature is a coastal low pressure that takes shape over the mid Atlantic. These two weather makers will converge upon the region for the second half of the weekend, bringing chances for showers and thunderstorms back into the picture.
