Nightly All Summer

2013 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival
The Fox Theatre continues the 2013 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival in July with six Oscar-winning films and two of this year’s “Best Picture” nominees Les Misérables and Django Unchained, the Director’s Cut of Lawrence of Arabia, and the romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Direct from movie theatres, the fantasy adventure, Oz the Great and Powerful, the story of Jackie Robinson 42, and the animated comedy adventure, The Croods will all play on the Fox Theatre’s 26 feet high x 56’8 wide big screen. The Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival will also include the 50th Anniversary of The Birds and the popular Saturday Morning Cartoons. Additional blockbuster films will be announced at a later date. In addition to seeing a movie on the biggest screen in Atlanta, the Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival offers a magical pre-show experience that includes a sing-along with the Mighty Mo organ and a vintage cartoon. July 4 Peachtree Road Race
The AJC Peachtree Road Race has distinguished itself as one of the premier Fourth of July traditions in Atlanta. This year’s 44th annual Peachtree Road Race will feature 60,000 runners competing in one of the country’s best known 10K races. The race, which starts at Lenox Square, once again has its finish line at Piedmont Park in Midtown. Race time is at 7:30 AM so get up early to line-up along Peachtree and cheer on the runners. July 4 4th of July at Lenox Square
For over half a century, Lenox Square has celebrated stars and stripes in grand tradition with activities for the entire family. This year’s activities will include musical entertainment, food concessions and the largest fireworks display in the Southeast. This year Lenox Square will host its inaugural talent search, ‘Atlanta’s Next Legend’ where the crowned winner will perform in front of crowds filled with family and friends. Activities open for a full-day of family fun at 10 a.m. Musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with Jimmy Buffet tribute band Sons of Sailors. At 7 p.m. the crowned winner of Lenox Square’s new talent search, ‘Atlanta’s Next Legend’ performs and at 7:30 p.m. show headliners Party on the Moon takes the stage. The 2013 BB&T Atlanta Open returns July 20 – 28 to Atlantic Station. For the first time the Bryan brothers are scheduled to play the tournament. The Bryans are recognized as the best men’s doubles team of all time, holding the records for Grand Slam victories, tour crowns and end-of-the-year No. 1 rankings. Returning players include two-time champion Mardy Fish, former Georgia Bulldog John Isner and defending doubles titlist Ryan Harrison. Dragon*Con returns to Atlanta for 4 Days this Labor Day Weekend August 30 – September 2.
