On Saturday, more than 75 people gathered for a rally to protest the Trayvon Martin verdict, a week late due to rain last weekend, in Marietta, Ga., but within the crowd, some of those in attendance were members of the radical Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) who have called for a revolution.
Shortly after the verdict, the Revolutionary Communist Party went on a verbal rampage on their official website even to the point of calling the police officers ”pigs” and calling for a revolution to overthrow the U.S. government and replace the U.S. Constitution with a socialist government.
The RPC said, “The only answer is Revolution…Nothing Less! And bringing a whole different world into being. And we have also gone deeply, in the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America, how all this could be dismantled, uprooted, and finally eliminated through revolution, and how a whole new society could be built.”
In their new Constitutional proposal draft, they advocate the overthrow of the U.S. government by saying:
“In order to bring this new socialist state into being, it would be necessary to thoroughly defeat, dismantle and abolish the capitalist-imperialist state of the USA; and this in turn would only become possible with the development of a profound and acute crisis in society and the emergence of a revolutionary people, in the millions and millions, who have the leadership of a revolutionary communist vanguard and are conscious of the need for revolutionary change and determined to fight for it.”
A few days ago, another communist affiliated radical organization, the Internationalist Group and the League for the Fourth International advocated that workers will seek vengeance in their article , “Workers Revolution Will Avenge Trayvon Martin” and one of their communist Internationalist speakers at the July 14 Harlem rally said, “I want to be frank here. It’s not just Florida. What about Ramarley Graham, where was he? In this city. What about Abner Louima? Tortured by the police, by the racist NYPD. What about Amadou Diallo? What about Alberta Spruill? What about Sean Bell? What about Anthony Baez? It’s not just Florida, it’s not just the Deep South, it’s not just Up South up here, it’s all around this country. So we need to mobilize a greater power than their power of terror, and their dirty imperialist wars, and their filthy racist murder machine, whether they be in white sheets, blue uniforms or the black robes of the of the Supreme Court of death. That power is the power of the working class, to overthrow this racist capitalist system. Only then will we begin to get justice.”
The Revolutionary Communist Party didn’t just show up in Georgia, but in several cities including Chicago when on July 20, Frontpage Mag reported that mainstream liberal public figures showed up in Chicago, President Obama’s hometown, such as Jesse Jackson and celebrities like MC Lyte demonstrated alongside radical groups like the International Socialist Organization (ISO), the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA (REVCOM), Occupy Chicago, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL).
The event was one of hundreds sponsored by the National Action Network (NAN), run by Al Sharpton.
The message at that rally was the same that the United States is a racist nation, the Zimmerman verdict must be the beginning of a “social revolution,” and that social revolution must include the distribution of federal money to the inner cities.
Wikipedia states the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA (RCP, USA) is a Maoist Communist party formed in 1975 in the U.S. The RCP holds that U.S. imperialism will never end peacefully, and that the only way for people to liberate themselves is through Communist revolution.
