A little known fact that came out in the aftermath of the Blackhawks Cup victory was that Jonathan Toews became the first Blackhawks captain to win 2 Stanley Cups. It was his intangibles that inspired the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Final.
Toews does a lot for the Blackhawks. He scores goals, plays stellar defense and wins faceoffs. In all three aspects of the day, Toews excels.

After Game 4, Toews said that the Blackhawks were unafraid of Zdeno Chara. He stated that while he respected Chara, the Blackhawks had to take the game to Chara. This was after a game where Chara was on the ice for 5 of the 6 goals that the Blackhawks scored.

He skated along the goal line after receiving a pass from Duncan Keith. Then Toews summarized perfectly what he was talking about earlier as he passed the puck between the skates of Chara to Bryan Bickell for the game tying goal.
Toews had irritated Chara in the final three games and showed that he was unafraid of him. He said they had to take the game to Chara and they did. The final pass summarized his words perfectly.
Toews was confident that the Blackhawks could impose their will on Chara and the Bruins. They did that not only because of his words but with his play. Toews not only said what he felt but he backed it up by delivering on the ice.
Toews was confident but in the final three games he was Captain Clutch. That is why Toews is the first Blackhawks captain in team history with 2 Stanley Cups.
