Despite reports to the contrary, Microsoft does not have plans to reintroduce the Xbox One at an alleged press event. This confirmation comes via Reddit, where Larry Hyrb (Major Nelson) commented yesterday saying, “It is not [legitimate].”
The rumor had previously said that Microsoft was set to seek out a “fresh start in their relationship with the media and consumers.” Phil Spencer, vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, and Phil Harrison, corporate vice president of Interactive Entertainment were both said to be making the announcement.
There are still rumors circulating that Microsoft could potentially release a SKU at the $399 price point to coincide with Sony’s PlayStation 4.
Microsoft recently confirmed that it will be releasing adapters for current generation headsets so they will continue to serve your gaming needs on the Xbox One. Many were worried, particularly those who had invested in expensive headsets.
The company has slowly but surely been getting back on it’s feet since an abysmal public relations incident following E3 in June.
