Reason 10 – There are not too many cruise ships there at any given town, so the ports are not overrun with tourists.
Reason 9 – It is a new unique destination for most cruisers. Given until recently Dubai and other ports of call in the region did not focus on drawing in tourists one can be among the first of their friends to go and see the region.
Reason 8 – The hospitality offered to visitors is quite amazing.
Reason 7 – Generally the areas where tourists go are clean and safe. Law enforcement activities in that part of the world does help keep criminal activity down quite a bit as compared to ports elsewhere in the world.
Reason 6 – The weather is great in the Northern Hemisphere Winter, it’s quite comfortable and makes a great break from the cold weather where many live.
Reason 5 – The souvenir shops aren’t the Del Sols and Diamonds International found in the Caribbean or Alaska, but are Souks in many spots selling a variety of goods, spices, and gold.
Reason 4 – Dates in the Middle East are very fresh as many are grown in groves around the region. They serve up various variations of dates, covered with chocolate and in other servings all of which are very tasty.
Reason 3 – Excursions in the Middle East range cultural to beach similar to other areas of the world but offer a world of different experiences not found in the Caribbean or Alaska, such as the dune busting excursion that is a tremendous blast as the four wheel drive SUV goes up and over dunes.
Reason 2 – On cruises like this to more exotic destinations typically the passenger mix is more international. It is good to meet folks from around the world and see their view of the world and perhaps share one’s own view. Many learn that people the world over are more alike than dissimilar.
Reason 1 – It’s an exotic cruise that not many people have done yet, so it is less crowded and more special. For those who collect new countries it typically adds a couple new countries to the list of places visited, and typically gives bragging rights since not many have ventured around the world yet to these destinations.
