As the fest’s final day of concerts, Sunday (July 21) has a much more relaxed atmosphere that’s mixed with a touch of melancholy due to the good times coming to an end. The Revivalists’ fiery rock ‘n’ roll provided the wakeup call for anyone who partied too hard the previous night.
After playing a set the previous afternoon as well as taking part in the Rex Jam and performing during the intermission of Furthur’s two sets, Marchfourth Marching Band’s brass musicians, stilt walkers and dancers finished its busy All Good schedule with one last set.
Brothers Cody and Luther Dickinson may have switched instruments several times during North Mississippi Allstars’ set but their blues roots shined through for a strong set.
New Orleans’ the Soul Rebels kept the energy level boosted with a set of brassy funky music.
Finally, Keller Williams with the Travelin’ McCourys played the final All Good set – a mixture of traditional bluegrass fare as well as covers by Modest Mouse (“Float On”), My Morning Jacket (“I’m Amazed”), Jessie J (“Price Tag”), Foster the People (“Pumped Up Kicks”) and several by the Grateful Dead including “Me and My Uncle” and “Candyman.”
As the festivarians helped in making sure that all that was left on the site were footprints, another All Good festival is filed into the memory bank while dreams of 2014 are already underway.
