Drexel women’s head basketball coach Denise Dillon has been rewarded for orchestrating a 2013 WNIT championship run with a contract extension through the year 2020. Full terms of the contract were not disclosed per Drexel Dragons.com.
Dillon has been the most successful coach in the program’s history since the Dragons moved to Division I basketball. She has the most victories in Division I play with 179 and has led her team to five consecutive post-season appearances, starting with the 2009 NCAA Tournament berth and ending with the WNIT title run.
Coach Dillon will be entering her 11th season as the Drexel women’s basketball coach next year and Dragons fans will certainly be glad to hear she will remain on the sidelines at the Daskalakis Athletic Center for at least several more seasons.
