The annual celebration is coming up fast. Denver Comic Con takes place May 31 – June 2, 2013, at the Colorado Convention Center. While it is a comic book convention, there is a myriad of panels, guests and activities for any “Doctor Who” fan. Being as this is the 50th Anniversary of the show, Denver Comic Con has an amazing line up planned to join in on the celebration. The local “Doctor Who” experts Heather Maloney and Michelle Talkington will be your guides through the many planned panels. Along with their gang of Whovians, topics will be discussed from Audio Books to Companions.
Colin Baker and Daphne Ashbrook
Finally, The Doctor will be travelling through time and space to Denver. Colin Baker, aka the Sixth Doctor, will be appearing all weekend for pictures, autographs and question & answer sessions. In addition, Daphne Ashbrook will also be in attendance. She portrayed the Eighth Doctor’s companion Dr. Grace Holloway. Both amazing “Doctor Who” guests will be appearing in the Main Events Room together. The question and answer panels will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30am.
“Doctor Who” Books, Comic Books and Audio Dramas
Make sure not to miss this panel discussion about the world of “Doctor Who” that lies beyond television. In addition, items from Big Finish Productions, Mad Norwegian Press and DK Publishing will be given away to random lucky attendees. This giveaway includes copies of the long awaited book “Queers Dig Time Lords” which will be given away prior to its official release to stores! This panel will take place in Room 104-106 on Friday at 5:30pm.
Best of Doctor Who Interactive Panel
The votes are being taken now on the Denver Comic Con Facebook page. Which companion will be voted the best of all time? Who is the greatest villain? Make sure to join the discussion as the results of this epic poll are revealed live. This panel will take place in the Main Events Room on Friday at 8:00pm.
50 Years in the TARDIS
It is amazing to think that the Doctor has been appearing on television for 50 years! Join the panel to listen and discuss the plethora of companions, villains and stories that have occurred in the show’s history. This panel will take place in room 104-106 on Saturday at 3:30pm.
Doctor Who Trivia
Are you a “Doctor Who” aficionado? Do you think you have what it takes to outwit other fans in trivia? If so, then come compete for fun and prizes. Or you can come just to watch. This panel will take place in room 501-502 on Saturday at 5:00pm.
Taking your “Doctor Who” fandom to the next level
So you love “Doctor Who” and want to become more involved in the fan community. How do you get started? Whether you would like to write, start a podcast or begin to explore cosplay, they will have a panelist to answer your question. This panel will take place in room 104-106 on Sunday at 11:30am.
50 years of “Doctor Who” Companions
Throughout the show’s long history there is almost always been a companion by The Doctor’s side. The companion is the character that the viewer relates to and wishes they could be. Come and join a discussion of all of the companions from Susan Foreman to Clara Oswald. This panel will take place in room 108-110 on Sunday at 3:00pm.
