Season 17 of “Dancing with the Stars” is only weeks away now and the rumor mills have been very quiet. Yahoo OMG! shared some news on July 30 about three cast members who have been confirmed for the upcoming season however and we couldn’t be happier.
Back in May, as the celebrations over the season 16 winners were winding down, rumors began to emerge that none of the 3 current judges had contracts for the fall 2013 season. Talk of replacements was rampant. Now we know at least two of them will be returning. Both Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli took to Twitter to make the announcements:
Bruno Tonioli tweeted that he will be returning to the judges table and told a follower: “of course miss my American friends and fans will be back soon x. B”
Carrie Ann Inaba had this to tweet: “Yes, It’s official, I’m coming back as a judge this season. :) Season 17 here we come! #DWTS.”
The status of head judge Len Goodman remains unknown.
Four-time champion Derek Hough will returning as well, according to the Los Angeles Times in spite of rumors to the contrary back in May. He said he thinks the switch to a single-night format will make DWTS a much better show, “high-impact and nonstop.”
“Dancing with the Stars” season 17 premieres September 16 on ABC.
