The deluxe version of Emblem3’s first Sony Music album, “Nothing to Lose” (which was released in the U.S. and Canada on July 30, 2013) has debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes (U.S.) album chart. It is the first time that a former contestant act from “The X Factor” U.S. has reached No. 1 on this chart. The regular version of “Nothing to Lose” debuted at No. 20. The Billboard 200 album chart debut for “Nothing to Lose” will be announced on Aug. 6, 2013.
“Nothing to Lose” has 11 tracks on the regular version and 15 tracks on the deluxe version. (The track listing is at the end of this article.) According to a Sony Music press release, “Emblem3 co-wrote much of the album, which … features songwriting by Jack Antonoff of fun., Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte and Max Martin (Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Katy Perry). The deluxe version features four bonus tracks, including two live songs (‘Jaiden’ and ‘Reason’) written exclusively by Emblem3 and recorded during the band’s sold out winter headline tour earlier this year.”
Sales for “Nothing to Lose” seem to have benefited from Emblem3’s appearance on ABC’s “The View” on July 29, 2013, as well as a pre-release streaming of the album at Teen Vogue’s website.
