On Saturday, Kelly Ripa, Donna Karan and InStyle hosted Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s (OCRF) 16th annual Super Saturday benefit. The outdoor shopping extravaganza was a fun day for kids and adults alike. Children were spotted enjoying the Ferris Wheel, video games and a corner with live music. There was also unlimited Carvel ice cream for guests, Sheila G’s brittle brownies, Zico Coconut water, Hamptons Coffee, Voss Water, fun manicures courtesy of ColorClub, a psychic, Moroccan Oil offered hair styling and samples, and lunch was catered by Sant Ambroeus. Their delectable deserts were to die for!
Then, there was the shopping, which was very easy to do given how cheap some of these high fashion designers were! Donna Karan, Theory, alice + olivia, Robert Rodriguez, Diane von Furstenberg, Helmut Lang, Intermix, Scoop NYC, Joie, JBrand and Ralph Lauren were a few of the brands who participated. Trina Turk had a really popular booth because all of her men’s items were five dollars each. In the Banana Republic booth, every item was on sale for twenty dollars a piece. Brooks Brothers also had some fabulous steals and deals, and we spotted Tiffani Thiessen browsing in the Penguin booth.
Zosia Mamet, Ali Wentworth, Jonathan Cheban, Kelly Rutherford, Kim Raver, Christa Miller, Susan Lucci, Lisa Rinna, Joy Behar, Nicole Murphy, Star Jones, Aida Turturro, Isaac Mizrahi, Nicky Hilton, Beth Stern, Fern Mallis, Sandra Lee, Amy Carlson and Diem Brownwere some of the other stars who came to support the event. DJ Steve Porter, an internationally acclaimed DJ and music producer, provided the entertainment for the day. The music kept everyone dancing as they shopped. Leading multimedia retailer QVC also broadcasted live from the event from 2:00PM – 4:00PM.
We spoke with celebrity stylist June Ambrose on the red carpet. Check out what she had to say!
Q: What brings you out today?
June Ambrose: I am shopping at Super Saturday for a good cause… you know it’s important… ovarian cancer. You spend money and it’s going to save someone’s life. I mean everyday should be like this for me. Seriously.
Q: So tell me about your outfit today.
June Ambrose: I’m wearing Camilla because it’s so hot and I just wanted to be flowy and kind of dreamy and ethereal and comfortable!
Q: What do you love about Hamptons fashion?
June Ambrose: That you feel like you’re in the Mediterranean but it’s also very kind of relaxed, but chic. I think that women and the guys are just so proper that they’re like dandies when they’re out here. They put on their khakis and their button up polo’s I love that look on guys. Can’t go wrong.
Q: Anything coming up in the future?
June Ambrose: My shoe launch in September. HSN, my second season for fall. You’re going to be so excited about it. It’s very daring, it’s urban regality. So stay tuned.
