Jennie Swenton, who provided us with pictures from Paul McCartney’s first show Wednesday in Austin, Texas at the Frank Erwin Center, sent us photos from the second show that took place on Thursday.
“The crowd was loud and rockin’ last night,” she said of the second night audience in the email she sent us Friday morning. “Paul was very appreciative of their enthusiasm.”
A McCartney fan on Twitter posted her opinion, “@PaulMcCartney was incredible last night!”
In our story on the second Austin show we filed last night, we reported that Paul made only a couple of setlist changes from the first Austin show. The most significant was the addition of “Things We Said Today” to replace “I’ve Just Seen a Face.”
It was the first time on the Out There! Tour that he’d played the song, though he’d played it live in the past, most recently in 2011 and 2012 during the On the Run tour. The last time he performed the song live before last night was Nov. 29 at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The Out There! tour continues May 26 in Memphis at the FedEx Forum.
