Ross and Rachel, Zack and Kelly, Cory and Topanga, do you know what they all have in common? They’re just a few of the most popular couples featured on our favorite television series. When new couples get together on shows, we often find ourselves comparing them to our former favorites. It’s ok… it’s only natural
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back at some of our favorite TV couples.
Rachel Green and Ross Geller
Friends was on the air for 10 seasons and it didn’t take long for viewers to welcome the cast into their hearts. One couple fans loved were Ross and Rachel. He was in love with her since high school, but didn’t make a move until years later when she moved in with his sister, Monica. Things were great until he got jealous and she wanted to “take a break.” While they never fully got back together, unless you count that brief reconciliation when she wrote him a letter that was 18 pages ”front and back!” they did have an adorable baby girl together. In the end, the realized how much they meant to each other and decided to give it another try.
Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence
Cory and Topanga always proved that even kids know how to truly feel and experience love. They’ve been friends since they were kids and began dating when they were barely teenagers. Even through their parents didn’t always approve of their relationship; their love always did conquer all. They lasted through it all and now the popular couple will return in the spin-off series Girl Meets World.
Dan and Rosanne
Every couple has their ups and downs, but how they handle those problems is what matters. Dan and Rosanne Conner always used laughter and honesty to get them through an issue. They may not have been the richest or had the best lifestyle, but they knew how to make us laugh through their sarcasm and humor… and that’s all it took to make viewers fall in love.
Cliff and Clair Huxtable
It’s safe to say that many television viewers wished they had parents like the Huxtables. They were hard working, loving, giving, funny, but they also knew when to step in and be a parent. They also took the time out to show their love for one another. While the Cosby Show only lasted 8 seasons, Cliff and Clair will always remain one of our favorite TV couples… and TV parents.
Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts
She was a spoiled rich girl and he was a loner who didn’t have many friends… if any. Then Ryan Atwood came along and things changed. People started to notice him and one person finally took notice… Summer Roberts. She was a girl that Seth was in love with, but she didn’t know he excited. Over time they became friends and it wasn’t long until they started dating. After breaking up the couple finally got back together, and in the series finale, were married.
Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski
Fans turned in to Saved by the Bell each week to see when Zack and Kelly were finally going to get together. It didn’t take long for the heartthrob and the school sweetheart to finally get together. While the relationship didn’t last as long as many of would like, they finally got back together in college and married during the series finale.
Joey Potter and Pacey Witter
We all remember the moment when Joey chose Pacey over Dawson. There’s even a .GIF of Dawson crying all over the Internet. While fans were split between who was better for Joey, Pacey was always a favorite for me. It might be true that you can’t change a bad boy, but Pacey was definitely a better person when he was with Joey. I’m so glad, that in the end, she ended up with Pacey.
Carol and Mike Brady
Lucy and Rickey Ricardo
Tami and Eric Taylor
David Silver and Donna Martin
Diane Chambers and Sam Malone
George and Louise Jefferson
Peyton Sawyer and Jake Jagielski
