With nearly seven million people suffering from hunger in Haiti, a helping hand is needed. Food assistance can help families recover from drought and storms which damaged their farms and food supply.
During 1947, with countries still recovering from World War II, Americans took “silent guests” into their homes at family meals. The guest represented a hungry person from one of the war-devastated nations. The families would make a donation that would buy a CARE package for the “silent guest.”
This food helped form the foundation of recovery for Europe. Today, one way you can help Haiti is to select a charity and make a “silent guest” donation.
The Charity Live Beyond has a feeding program, where even a 5 dollar donation provides a bag of food that can feed a family in Haiti for an entire month.
So take in a silent guest and help Haiti with food for recovery.
