“Fifty Shades of Grey” author E L James has finally departed Los Angeles after her already long trip was extended two days. According to her own tweets, James was expected to fly home on Sunday but didn’t actually leave until Tuesday. She tweeted on July 30 “At LAX… looking forward to going home and seeing @noghar.”
There has been no confirmation on the reason for her extended trip but casting could have been a factor. Reports surfaced last week that Garrett Hedlund turned down the part of Christian Grey and Ian Somerhalder would not be considered, leaving the fan community to wonder who was left to fill the role. Fan favorite Henry Cavill is not a reasonable option considering his hectic filming schedule, including the second installment of “Man of Steel” which will start shooting in 2014.
Jessie Pavelka, 30, has seen a resurgence in popularity among fans and the media for the role of Christian Grey. The “Diet Tribe” star has a few factors on his side when it comes to casting including age, physique and fan support. The largest unofficial Christian Grey Twitter uses Pavelka’s image and the fitness guru himself now follows that account.
Pavelka is currently promoting his work with the group HOOP (Helping overcome obesity problems) as well as his series “Fat: The Fight of my Life,” seen on UK’s Sky Living. Coincidentally, Pavelka and E L James were in Los Angeles at the same time and both left via LAX on July 30. Pavelka tweeted, “Leaving LA. A productive and fun trip. I shall see you again soon.” When he returns could he possibly be heralding the title of Mr. Christian Grey?
The cast for “Fifty Shades of Grey” is expected to be announced soon as filming is set to begin in the Fall. Yet James admitted to fans on July 31 that she was unsure when the world would learn who will play Christian and Ana, tweeting “In all honesty – I don’t know. :).”
The official US release date for the movie is August 1, 2014. Follow Fifty Shades Examiner on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news and updates from Team Fifty!
