Every fall, visitors and residents in South Florida are treated to some of the most gruesome, grotesque, an downright hideous attractions that can be found anywhere on Earth. As Halloween appoaches, they can see and enjoy how the amazing themed attractions in Orlando and Tampa are transformed into terrifying shadows of their daytime appearances. They can also take in the sights and sounds of horror put on by local fear mongers whose evil genius stands toe to toe with the big time scarers in Central Florida.
One of the finest examples of this evil ingenuity can be found lurking in the barns and exhibition halls of the South Florida Fairgrounds. Preparing to scare visitors for the eleventh time, the evil Eggman and his minions of doom are busily planning the horrific houses and murderous mazes that make up one of the state’s feature haunted attractions; Fright Nights.
“So far we have 2 definite houses (returning from past glory.) The Smiths (Family of murderous clowns)… and Country Bills Meat Market ( Backwoods, cannibalistic hillbillies,)” stated Craig McInnis, one of the masters of horror at Fright Nights. “The other 2 are still forming.”
As the horror begins to fester, the event recently announced it’s first casting call of 2013. If you’ve ever been told that you have a face only a mother could love, and also have been bitten by the acting bug, you could have a career as a scareactor. On September 15, Fright Nights is holding an open casting call at the Cruzan Amphitheatre. Be sure to visit their facebook page, as well as website for more details as they become available.
“We will be introducing a few new elements,” McInnis continued. “Fright Nights TV, where everyone can get their moment of fame, and a costume contest ( PRIZES! ) and masquerade ball on the Sunday after the last Saturday.”
The scareactors at Fright Nights will be inhabiting an environment of fear and death that can only be created by a team of evil geniuses. If you have construction experience, and are eager to put your skills to work terrifying teenagers, small children, the elderly, and pretty much everyone else, Fright Nights is looking for you! They are currently accepting resumes via email from the area’s construction professionals. Contact Alex for more details.
“In addition, our Scream Park returns with our Monster Midway, Games, Food, Prizes, Live Music, Scare Zones, Roaming freaks from our Carnival of Creeps and of course 4 Haunted Houses!” stated an exalted McInnis.
