Stretches, ball rolling and the like are a good start, however as the lynchpin to mobility in the body, maintaining a fully functioning spine at any age takes a more sophisticated approach. This is best accomplished most efficiently with exercise. For example when the capital muscles in the neck are stiff the whole body will be stiff as well. If you want to address mobility wholistic-ally, it’s necessary to massage each vertebrae in the cranial, thoracic, lumbar, and pelvic spine in a way that increases rather than decreases blood flow in the organs during exercise.
To match our physiological function as well as our anatomical structure for full function and mobility, it’s necessary to sustain homeostatic steady state at any speed and intensity. This is revolutionary idea whose time has come, since cell function breaks down and can even become toxic during S.A.I.D. based exercise.
