The “Game of Thrones” is stirring up some major controversies after the Sunday, June 2 airing of the popular HBO show left fans shocked by the horrific gruesome events that unfolded in the storyline according to the Daily Mail reports in Monday, June 3.
Some of the show’s fans were astonished to how the far the show took the violent and shocking scenes in the season three showing of “The Rains of Castamere.”
During the latest “Game of Thrones” episode viewers watched in horror as a grisly end came to the King of the North, his mother and pregnant wife, in what is now being called one of the most gruesome scenes in TV history.
The scene has left thousands of the shows faithful viewers not only horrified by it’s gory storyline but extremely shocked as it has drifted from the George R.R. Martin’s A Storm of Swords, which the third of the seven planned books in the Game of Thrones series.
During the episode Robb Stark, the King of the North engaged in an age old custom of hospitality with Walder Frey by eating his bread and salt.
Walder then betrays his guest as he carries out a bloody,and shocking act of vengeance against the King and his clan, including of course his wife.
During the wedding feast the show soon descends into a bloodbath with most of Robb’s clan also being butchered.
Catelyn Stark watched as her pregnant daughter was slaughtered, then her first born son just before her own throat was also slit.

One fan took to Twitter writing: ‘Episode 9 of game of thrones was incredible, even though I knew the red wedding was coming it was still shocking and brilliant, epic tv.’
If you are unfamiliar with the HBO made for cable series, It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled “A Game of Thrones.”
“Game of Thrones” first premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011. The series has been renewed for a fourth season, to air in 2014 so you still have plenty of time to catch up on the shocking popular drama.
