The ripple effect of Franco (Roger Howarth) being alive continued on Monday’s episode of ‘General Hospital’. Perhaps the greatest impact of sociopathic artist being alive will affect the live of Michael (Chad Duell) and the Quartermaines who dealing with both the reality of Michael’s rape and the fact that Quartermaine blood is running through the veins of Franco.
A.J’s reaction in learning about what his son has been through shows how much he cares about Michael and how much he wishes he could’ve been there for him as a father. A.J’s first reaction was anger and then he instantly blamed Sonny and Carly for the pain Michael now has to live with. A.J. also feels like he has failed Michael. On Monday’s episode Michael explains to his father what led him to killing Claudia and what ultimately landed him in prison. Michael has anger issues but he is also fearful of what he is capable of. A.J. being there for him intensified their relationship and growing bond as father and son.
Michael’s rape also led to a tender moment between Monica (Leslie Charlson) and Tracy (Jane Elliot). Monica also went the route of self-blame for the family not fighting for Michael. Tracy instantly reminded her that the family has each other’s backs and not to blame the family for something that wasn’t in their control. And the key is being there for Michael now. Tracy also realized that Franco being alive meant that he was the actual Quartermaine heir and not Lauren. Monica reminded Tracy that Franco is harmless as long as he is behind bars.
If it was up to Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) Franco will be harmless because he will be dead. It was good to see the pair working together again, but they usually always come together and stand on the same ground when it comes to Michael. Carly is adamant that Sonny takes care of Franco, but Sonny doesn’t want Carly’s hands tied to what he has planned. Both went to Shawn to take care of Franco and the smirk on Carly’s face when Shawn agreed was classic Carly. It also showed the extent both Carly and Sonny would go to for their son but it also can blow up in their faces and harm Michael more like when they decided to cover up Claudia’s murder for their son’s safety which led him to serving time in prison.
Behind iron bars and padded walls, Franco has been popular with visitors. First Carly, and then Ava (Maura West) came face to face with her baby daddy. These two are going to be an interesting pair because they share a daughter and they both seem to have their own agendas. During Ava’s visit, they talked about Lauren and their past romance. Franco let Ava know that he was aware of what she was up to as far as Lauren’s shares in ELQ. He also informed her that he was actually the heir and that the two can actually work together if she wants any piece of the money. Franco vowed to Ava that he will see his daughter when and if he is released and that she won’t be able to keep them apart. Franco’s attempt to get released from prison may rest on the shoulders of Diane Miller who Franco prepositioned to represent him. Will Diane go against her moral judgment for the right price?
Elsewhere, Sam and Silas faced off in court over custody of Rafe. Both Sam and Alexis was surprised that Diane was representing Silas. Kiki defended Michael to Morgan and also told him that she just found out she was a part of a very rich family that she wants nothing to do with.
