The inaugural GIRLS Empowerment Seminar Series: Empower You – DC was held on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Richard Wright Public Charter High School. IN THE LOOP Program of Success and Blu Topaz, Inc sponsored the event with support from Camille Parris Events.
The highlights of the event were as follows:
Opening Session with Deborah Bond as the keynote set the tone as she inspired the girls to dream big and work hard. Anj hosted the seminar and shared with us that everyone has something to give and always be open to receive.

Deborah Mdurvwa, jewelry designer, created a Beyond the Surface session that had girls making jewelry and discovering that beauty is more than the surface. So,
Stephanie Abdullah and Florentia Spires were the panelists in Building Careers with STEAM and shared their amazing stories that really inspired the girls.
