Cory Monteith, 31, has been found dead in a Vancouver hotel room. US Weekly confirmed the rumors on July 13 that the “Glee” star had been found dead. During a press conference authorities believed there was no foul play involved in his passing. Monteith had recently been battling drug and alcohol abuse, even checking himself into a rehab facility.
Rehab was a familiar place for the young star. At age 19 he had gone to a treatment facility for drug and alcohol abuse because he was fearful he “could die” from the addictions. Corey Monteith was raised in the British Columbia region of Canada and ‘Glee’ was considered his “big break” into Hollywood in 2009. On the hit show he also found a companion in co-star Lea Michele, whom he had been dating for over a year. Michele has made no official statement regarding his death.
Monteith maintained a verified Twitter account. His last tweet was on July 12 in which he was playfully discussing the movie “Sharknado,” saying, “oh. IT’S A SHARK TORNADO.”
