Glen Arbor BBQ & Brew Festival, June 15th with BARC

What: A gathering of Michigan microbreweries, regional restaurants and live entertainment under a gigantic tent in America’s Most Beautiful Place! This is a family-friendly event located just a short walk from Lake Michigan and your favorite Glen Arbor shops and restaurants.

When: Saturday, June 15th, 2-8pm

Where: Corner of M-22 and Lake Street in the center of downtown Glen Arbor, Michigan.
Who: Live music from Erratixz, over 20 samples of beer from 9 Michigan breweries & local BBQ from Blu, Art’s Tavern, Cherry Republic and Western Avenue Grill! We’ll also have non-alcoholic beverages from Cherry Republic, Great Lakes Tea & Spice, Northwoods Soda and Bay Lavender. Click here for more vendor info.

How Much: Admission is $15 per person, which includes 4 tickets. Extra tickets will be $1 each this year and are redeemable for both beverages and food. Beer samples are 2 tickets each, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Food sample ticket “costs” will vary depending on vendor and menu item.
Why: This is the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce’s biggest fundraising event of the year. So while you enjoy the finest in Michigan Brews and BBQ, know that all money raised stays in the community and goes towards the following:

Other Chamber events and programs (Holiday Marketplace, Chili Cook-Off)
Local “beautification” (plantings, repairs, etc.)
Local charitable donations
Local sponsorships (Manitou Music Festival, business events)
Visitor services (maintaining the info center, emails, website, mailings, etc.)
Glen Lake Scholarships

Admission is $15 per person and includes 4 tickets redeemable for on-site food/beverage.
2 tickets = 1 beer sample or non-alcoholic beverage.

Purchase your tickets in advance and you can be entered in a drawing to win a weekend in Glen Arbor! (See MyNorth link above for more information.) Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event, but only ticket purchases and form submissions received by June 14, 2013 will qualify for entry into the contest.

Bay Area Recycle for Charities, or BARC, will be present to collect all your recyclables and answer any questions you may have.

BARC is a non-profit organization that wishes to inspire and educate all members of the community to utilize the beneficial practices of reuse and recycling to in turn support charitable programs and activities in the community.

BARC focuses its efforts on converting recyclables into revenues not only to support itself and fund its expansion, but to achieve its ultimate goal of giving maximum donations to local charities.

Bay Area Recycling for Charities offers easy, convenient options for maximizing the effect of your recycling, beginning with drop-off sites and pick-up service. The profits from the resources collected will be contributed to local charities.
